I've been wearing eyeglasses my entire life. I get a new eye exam, & glasses every 2 years, and usually could see better with my new glasses. I didn't notice any significant improvement after my last 2 exams from my usual OD, and kept returning to her office to find out why, only to be told I wasn't wearing the eyeglasses properly. In exasperation I sought out Doctor McAlear. I've NEVER had a more thorough examination! After no less than 4 ultra modern diagnostic machines Doctor McAlear utilizes in his office, he discovered cataracts in both eyes, & arranged surgery. Now I've been told the surgery to correct cataracts is quick, & painless. Well in my case, I experienced EXTREME pain, and went to Doctor McAlear for follow up the next day. Apparently I sustained a Corneal Abrasion, and Doctor McAlear treated, and followed me daily for 5 days. Today, Father's Day - a Sunday, 10 days after the cataract surgery, I again woke up with a foreign body sensation, & extreme discomfort in the eye I had surgery on 10 days ago. I called Doctor McAlear at his HOME as he had directed me to do ANYTIME with concerns, & asked him if I should go to the Emergency Room. Doctor McAlear would hear none of it! He met me at his office on FATHER'S Day (with his two lovely sons in tow) and AGAIN relieved my discomfort. I'm a Registered Nurse of 30 years, & I have NEVER met a more obviously caring, and competent Doctor! If anyone is in need of THE BEST eye Doctor, there is no need to look for anyone other than Thomas J. McAlear, OD at 1690 Main Street, Weymouth, MA ******* (Tel.) *******004. A truly remarkable man to whom I am profoundly grateful.
