Bought two roses (first time)- both were ridiculously small for the price. One did ok- the other never grew more than 12 inches tall and was so sickly I removed it. I have a strict routine of watering, pest control and fertilization- which Heirloom roses claims is too much watering and fertilization. I wonder why my other 13 co-located rose bushes- some of which I purchased from Walmart for $13- have grown 4-5 ft in the same time period. Seriously- this is a joke. I have years of experience successfully growing roses. Only buy from them if you have no other option
I ordered 2 roses ( over $100 in cost), they were not delivered on the date i picked (even they promise that it will be delivered on that day). I called customer service multiple times to verify the date of delivery, but it was not delivered even they told me it will be. What a joke. Finally, it was delivered at 8pm 2 days later in terrible condition. I told them that roses look like the last pick from the clearance rack at Lowes - bare stems on one rose, yellow disease looking leaves on the second plant. I am no impressed, i am very disappointed, i will never purchase from this company again. First impression is very important if they want to be a successful company and show that they take pride in their plants.

I purchased a few different bare root roses a few weeks ago. One was per my mother's request, a "Don Juan" red climber. It arrived as what I considered a "twig" lol. I am super new to roses & quite nervous. Anyway, I followed the planting instructions precisely. It's only been 2 weeks & it has quadrupled size already! I'm totally astounded!
I recently looked back in my emails and saw that I have been ordering roses from Heirloom since 2015! Although the ownership has changes, they continue to be a vendor that I trust and enjoy doing business with. I recommend them wholeheartedly!
I will definitely be using again they came so beautifully packaged. The plant was healthy and even had buds already on it. Can't wait to see if we will have some beautiful roses this coming spring/summer
I ordered Mr Lincoln for the son of a lady who has recently died. Mr Lincoln was one of her favorite roses (mine too, the fragrance is divine) and so I thought this would be a living memory to her rather than cut flowers which fade and die soon. The order arrived on time, intact, with clear instructions for planting.
I love ordering roses from Heirloom. Their roses arrive healthy and vibrant. If ever I have any issues, I just have to reach out and someone from their staff will make it right. It's important to buy from family owned companies and I feel good about that.
I purchased the Poet's Wife as I was looking for a sharp yellow rose. It is the most prolific of the three roses I purchased having about 7 blooms in the first year! However, it is not a sharp yellow, but a soft yellow. Regardless, it is beautiful and fragrant.
I wasn't allowed to request a delivery time after the last frost date for my area. Then the rose was delivered late, on a three-day weekend and had to sit who knows where. However I expect the rose to thrive, as others that I've received from Heirloom Roses have.
During check out, US customers may choose a requested arrival date for their order. Canadian customers may select a requested ship week. Enter your address and you will receive an estimated transit time for your package. We recommend choosing a ship date that works best for planting in your hardiness zone. To protect our roses from extreme weather changes, we sometimes defoliate the plant and ship them with limited foliage. This helps roses stay healthy throughout the shipping process. We guarantee that your roses will arrive healthy and hardy. Leaves will begin to grow within 2-3 weeks of planting. If you need assistance regarding how to care for your roses until the weather warms, please feel free to visit our website or contact our team at 800-820-0465.
I ordered hot cocoa and Zepherine Drouhin. They were well packed for the trip. I planted them both the next day and so far they are doing great! New little healthy leaves are already emerging after 4 days! I know they are off to a great start, I anticipate gorgeous blooms coming seasons!
Answer: I bought from Heirloom Roses because of the amazingly beautiful selection of roses they offer plus their customer service is beyond excellent.
Answer: I live in 8b and prune in November. Watch the weather as they should tell you when six weeks before the first frost happens. I prune again in April after the last frost and before the buds turn red and swell.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your rose didn’t meet your expectations.
It’s important to note that own-root and grafted roses do grow differently in their first year. Grafted roses often appear larger as they establish on their rootstock, while own-root roses focus on developing a strong root system. In the first year, own-root roses tend to produce slimmer canes, but after their first pruning, their growth becomes more robust, often surpassing grafted roses in overall longevity and health.
Regarding your warranty request, we regret that we could not approve it due to the presence of rose rosette disease, which is spread by mites and unfortunately not covered under our warranty. While this disease isn’t a reflection of your care, we did also advise that weekly fertilizing and daily watering may not be the best approach for young own-root roses, as they require more balanced care during their establishment phase.
We completely understand how disappointing it is to lose a rose, especially to something as unpredictable as rose rosette disease. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions or need assistance.
