DeeKenna Rohde was such an invaluable aid in helping me find a wonderful assisted-living facility for my mom. I live in Colorado, and my mom lives in Albuquerque, NM. I first contacted a few NM state, county and city agencies to ask what assistance they could provide. They couldn't provide much, saying I would need to contact every facility myself. I contacted A Place for Mom. And the first facility DeeKenna recommended was the facility I chose for my mom.
When faced with the realization that mom would need the support and safety of an assisted living facility and with no experience in navigating the maze of choices I turned to A Place for Mom. My contact, Robert I. Was amazing! He listened to the needs, budget and concerns my mother had and recommended the perfect facility. APFM offered several choices and left the decision to us. Mom moved in yesterday and is very happy.
We loved the service, information, resources and our advisor Michelle. She guided, encouraged, and gave us a wealth of information to help us in this difficult process and even encouraged me a lot in a very complex, stressful family situation in dealing with this.
I began my search for Senior Living looking for an appropriate place for my husband and I. However as it was developing my husband suddenly passed away. Having a new set of priorities given the major change of circumstances was challenging but I was able to adapt and follow through with the recommendations that were provided. I found a good match and am very happy and pleased with the match found through A Place for Mom. Thank you Charles!.
Great help in pointing out communities and setting up tours. Also the special calls made for guidance and speaking with directors.
They gave me places to go see, which worked out very well. I had to move and had no idea where to start looking. I found an apartment in my budget that I like.
I checked out the APFM website after watching an ad on TV. Shortly after a very helpful woman called and we talked for a while. I stress helpful. Within an hour after that call, I had an email with appointments with 5 or 6 facilities in the area all set up.
I received a number of calls and emails form her in the next few weeks. Not so many as to be a pest, but enough to keep me moving along. We found a place that I am very happy with, that meets our needs. Mom moved in recently and so far things have been as good as I might haved hoped.
It took a while to find a place because we're picky.
I was given a list of five possibilities. Turned out the first one on the list was the best one IMO.
A Place for Mom saved us so much time and stress searching for a housing solution for my mother. The specialists were very professional and knowledgeable and provided a wide variety of options in the varying locations where my siblings lived. They found us the perfect place in our budget and my mom is moved in and thriving. Such a relief to have the guidance and know-how of the wonderful A Place for Mom staff! Thank you very much!
Rachel helped us find a place as well as many other things she did for us along the way. She was wonderful and I am grateful we used this service. Very helpful! Thank you!
We knew my dad was just barely hanging onto his independence at home. I saw an advertisement for A Place for Mom and decided to make the call. I was given options across 3 different states and was also given some practical advice. My dad is now in a safer place and it all started with help from our advisor Beth
I found A Place for Mom's assistance to be transformative. I stumbled upon them by accident after I had conducted an extensive search of assisted living options for my mother using AI. They identified options that I have failed to identify and provided a rational way of going about finding an appropriate living situation for my mother.
In fact, she's living in one of the facilities they identified now!
Stephanie was very compassionate, helpful and professional. She really took a lot of stress off my shoulders and was happy to help. She gave me several places to think about; but 2 of them really stood out to me: Gemstone and Avalon. They were both top notch, very attentive to their patients, very sweet caregivers. We finally settled on Avalon as they have a "quiet area" for people who get overstimulated. Stephanie walked me through what was needed and made sure that we were satisfied with our choice. I highly recommend A Place for Mom, they are just the best and were so helpful!
A Place for Mom helped me find a beautiful assisted living place for our mom. Thank you so much! I highly recommend using them!
Our case manager Kristen was knowledgeable and experienced. We were helped through the whole process of exploring, visiting and then choosing a great option and moving our loved one there..
Our experience was phenomenal with A Place For Mom. I dealt with two women that were equally as compassionate in helping me navigate such a difficult course. My mom fell and broke her hip at the end of July and was bounced from facility to facility. She eventually ran out of Medicare, therefore needed long-term care. Both girls help me to define what my mom needed and the best places to find the care that she needed. The cost here in Massachusetts is outrageous comparably speaking. They were able to find me something that was financially viable. They're carrying and knowledge was. Exactly what I needed at this time. I cannot thank them and A Place For Mom enough. Thank you.
My Aunt had a big stroke recently and I reached out to find guidance on what her options were. Beth (nurse)helped me throughout the process. She was kind, informative and patient. Our circumstances changed a few times. No matter how many times our goals changed she took the time to check in with me without being pushy. Beth helped us to navigate a very difficult and emotional time. I would recommend A Place for Mom to anyone who needs help with elder care.
My representative, Joy, was amazing. She tailored her recommendations to my specific needs and geographic and budgetary desires. Nothing extraneous. My time researching facilities was made especially efficient by her recommendations. And I was on a very tight timeline as my loved one was on the verge of discharge from the hospital.
Stephanie was very helpful in finding a facility for my father. She provided me with many options and pricing in my area, setup tours and followed up with me to continue my search so that I felt very comfortable with the options. Thank you "A Place for Mom" and especially Stephanie!

Answer: In the Greater Louisville (Kentuckianna) metro area there are several I can recommend you consider based on our tour of recommended facilities in Southern Indiana. As residents of Southern Indiana, just across the river from Louisville, we chose Silvercrest in New Albany Indiana. They offer independent living in freestanding apartments as well as assisted living and also more complete care for those needing it. We also really liked Traditions at Hunters' Station in Sellersburg which has identical options, and Bennett House in Clarksville, which offers assisted living and additional services but does not have independent living. Some of these do have limited Medicaid beds in their nursing facilities.
