This company had good reviews in previous years but now in 2024 something must have happened with them. I talked to a guy who told me it would take about a week to fix. I sent them a flash drive almost in early May they sent a text saying they received it and now I can not reach anyone to assist me with any updates. I've called, text and emailed. Do not make this mistake by using this company, you will regret it!

The company wanted to charge me 1800 to recover data on an external hard drive. When I declined they wanted to charge me 40.00 + 10.00 to return the media. I would advise customers to beware.

Absolute waste of time, money, and resources. DO NOT USE. My case manager Hugh was non-existent and no help what-so-ever, no response to calls or texts for days. Their slogan is "Recover the Unrecoverable" and within 1 hour of my drive being delivered they deemed it "unrecoverable"...so much for that reassurance. The evaluation is NOT "Free", they required me to pay $40 to ship it back.

DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY! They do not know how to return products the way they found them and they charge you for your product to be returned to you. If I could give this 0 stars I would.

I had a video that was somehow deleted or removed on my laptop. I don't know how or why it was removed. I had a computer guy look at it and he unfortunately couldn't find the video. No problem and he returned it the way it was found the Home Screen was available and ready to use. I wanted a second opinion or a last ditch effort to find the video. I looked at Salvage Data and thought that based on their high rating of recovery I thought I'd give them a shot. The guy who I spoke with told me they solved court cases doing forensics on computers/laptops on finding missing or deleted files. I figured it was a no brainer for them to recover my video. Unfortunately I was wrong and they couldn't recover it because there was no hard drive. Thats fine but what is not fine is charging $40 for my laptop to be returned in an unusable condition with NO Home Screen. There was a black screen that had three options F1 for retry F2 for boot setup and F5 for diagnostics. I looked up every YouTube video on how to solve the problem of bios of the media. There's NO excuse as to why there's NO Home Screen when it was returned. I shouldn't have to figure out on my own how to get my Home Screen back up and running. If the first person who tried to recover my video was able to return my computer with the Home Screen open after charging, why can't a data recovery company? Now I have to pay over $300 for a hard drive and to get my Home Screen back up at Best Buy.

The picture below is when I clicked on F2 which is the bios of the media. I looked up on YouTube what to do when there's no Home Screen. And that was one of the steps to click on F2. I tried several times to reboot it and nothing worked. I hope Best Buy can recover it and return it with my Home Screen up.

This company wants nothing but your $$$$. Stay away!

When my hard drive failed. I searched the web and found SALVAGE Data services and called them. After few minutes on the phone with one of their technicians, I went ahead and sent them the hard drive. Soon after getting it they called me back to let me know that they were able to recover almost all of the data. Recently got a hard drive saved by these guys. They gave me a wide quote up front, but the actual price ended up being pretty reasonable and they managed to get everything back from my damaged drive (which I was not expecting!). Super friendly folks, and were really good with communication throughout the process (text/called to give updates). 10/10, definitely recommending them to anyone.
