The Pitt Rivers museum in Oxford, UK (website http://www.prm.ox.ac.uk/) is the place where you'd go to find the collections of real life Indiana Jones explorers, archaeologists and anthropologists.

Founded in 1884 to house the collection of British explorer and archaeologist General Pitt Rivers, the original 18,000 objects have now grown to 500,000. Eclectic and fascinating, the museum is full of surprises and interesting displays from all around the world.

From magic and religion, smoking and stimulants to food processing, medicine and surgery it's got the lot. The website is next best thing to a visit. There are some fabulous photos. Enjoy!
