I have noticed that the complex kroger app is wearing down not only customers like myself but also the employees who have to help dissatified, frustrated customers. Some of the Kroger employees, out of frustration, are now refusing to help. I am avoiding Kroger as much as possible.
I'm an independent senior citizen and don't drive, living in the NE area of town. Today I contacted Kroger Customer Service@#*******377, after not receiving my delivery order on time and each agent I spoke to wasn't able to offer any resolve for my missing order via Kroger delivery truck, after many calls to the customer service 2hrs post delivery time, and I still hadn't received my food order, I was told my order was cancelled by the Kroger delivery team because driver couldn't deliver the groceries to the leasing office, the delivery instructions printed on my account never requested delivery to the leasing office but instead had precise instructions to call when at gate for gate code and instructions to apt. I've used Kroger delivery multiple times and even considering Boost benefits. But no longer will I be a loyal Kroger Customer! And I will file my complaint of this matter on platforms to share my experience with others in case this is something that frequently happens and I didn't know about. How disappointed I was having been left stranded without food from this delivery and the hold up on my delivery fee for 5 days before the bank will release funds. This should not have happened I've had many previous deliveries to the same address without difficulty or complications.
Sincerely
Former Kroger Customer
Kroger cancelled our order without notifying us. Now they won't refund my grocery money. The week before Christmas. Shame on you Kroger.
I spent 68. Shopper put back some things omg save me 18. I should be charged 50. The preauth when ordering the 68the night before 2pm shopping done, 4am I'm charged 50 more, the 68.00 is still pending I had 32 or so there for my last bill that will bounce and it all KROGERS Fault how is this legal Let alone right, I was told to wait for the charge to relice my stolen money,
I have been a Kroger delivery customer for quite a long while now and I am a Boost member. They just delivered my groceries to the wrong home and they will not re-dispatch my groceries, will only give a refund and a 30-dollar credit. The problem is I am disabled and do not get out of my home so I get my groceries delivered. I get a government check and have paid all my bills, what was left was for the whole month's groceries, and always buy what I need for the month at the first of the month. They will not give my money back for 3-5 days. It is all I had and I am out of groceries. No matter what I said to them they would not transfer me to someone in the US. They said sorry, but in the end, they did not even give me the store credit on my account that they said they would, I have to wait three to five days for the refund and another day for delivery. I am very upset this morning. I will be posting this review to every app I find online line as well as sharing it with my 403 local friends as well as making it public on Facebook and more on Twitter/X, Instagram, Yelp, and as many others as I can find.
My grocer is SMITHS, which belongs to KROGER.
1. At Smiths, I clipped a digital deal (peaches). The app raised a credentials error that could not be resolved while I was shopping.@#$! Finally a customer service person had to escort and assist me at the cash register.
The app's error messages are obnoxiously vague.
2. Both apps -- Kroger and Smiths -- provide too much screen info on the dashboard or other screens; and thus, navigation is confusing.
When I am_focused to clip a digital deal, this grocer's vast portfolio of services is distracting.
3. Also distracting -- screen advertisements that change as I use the app._STOP_ redundant advertising!
I am already inside the store,_surrounded by physical advertising.
IMO -- the monetary value of a confused and distracted buyer has gone way too far. Occasionally, a human staff person acts apologetic about an app's hard sell.
Came home and reviewed my receipt when I noticed I was charged $12 for a bottle of water. Not a gallon. A regular bottle. Now I go to return it and I'm treated like I did something wrong. She said, well someone must've opened a pack and took 1 out because that's a package price I'm sure. I said, I dont know. It was the only single bottle of this brands water on the shelf. So, that means that 11 other people paid $12 a bottle and didn't notice on their receipt. Then she asks what I wanted done. You work at the customer service desk. Did you have training? Come on Kroger.
This is my second attempt at corresponding with Kroger in regards to the draconian conditions at the Texas City Kroger store. To refresh your memory – I was a part-time employee in the bakery department. I started working for Kroger in December 2023 and voluntarily terminated my employment on June 10,2024. I never had any issues with being written up (it is odd that Kroger resorts to this practice before any verbal counseling or redirection but that is just one of many poor management practices at Kroger) until I gave notice that I was leaving. I gave a month's notice in order to be available to cover for other bakery employee vacations, and since giving notice I have been written up twice in one week. One write up was for not following "tortilla standards" (which no one is aware of) which I was totally unaware and the other one was for not filling tables correctly – something else I was never trained on. It is absolutely unbelievable that Kroger employees – your most valuable asset, by the way – are treated with blatant disrespect and at times downright meanness by so called managers. It is safe to assume that this occurs because they (store management) suffer no consequences for treating people so poorly as upper management/corporate types apparently condone these practices. It is not unusual to see employees in tears at work due to excessive browbeating by managers (who are for the most part uneducated – high school graduates at best – and have had no training in good management practices) who refuse to address them with even a modicum of respect as well as refusing to adequately staff the store in order to preserve profits and management bonuses. Their behavior is reminiscent of the tyrants who ran the sweatshops in the early part of the last century. It is very odd that in 2024 any corporation, especially one like Kroger, would choose to model themselves after such a not only much maligned but also failed system of management.
I am hopeful but not too optimistic that raising awareness of these deplorable management practices will effect positive change for those still unfortunate enough to be employed at Kroger. I am fortunate in that I did not have to work but I will never forget the horrible plight of those left behind to suffer at the hands of the most incompetent, mean spirited people I have run into in many, many years.
You all may want to heed some of Sir Richard Branson statements –
"Train People well enough so they can leave, treat them well enough so they don't want to".
"Take care of your employees and they will take care of your business. It's that simple".
"Loyal employees are assets – NOT LIABILITIES.
Of course, Kroger's mentality and priority - corporate greed.
Dictators, no leaders.
Pretty sad the rating and review Kroger has and no one pays attention.
Hope for the best, to my ex-fellow employees.
Today I couldn't believe my eyes! At the Kroger on North Goliad TX at 7:45PM the store only had self checkout. A retired couple, in the kiosk next to me, had a full cart of groceries and were forced to scan every item while an employee stood and watched.
Poor service, expired stock and an unwillingness to honor posted prices makes Kroger a very poor choice.
Ok so when you order on line, pay for the order it's one price. When it's delivered it's another. Always more. Refunds take forever. Kroger sucks.
Tried the large sesame private selection burger buns and they ruined our dinner. First bite and they just broke up and fell to pieces. Nothing worse! Would not recommend this product. Seems that every time I shop at Fred Myers there is a disappointment. Going back to Safeway for good.
I have ordered 100's of times from Kroger and had my groceries delivered no problem. But for the last 2 months, Kroger tells me they can't find my address and doesn't refund me for my groceries. I spend a total of 2 hrs for 2 separate orders trying to get a refund. Thee most unprofessional company out there. I will never order from Kroger again and I spend $200 a week…
You all think that the consumers are stupid. You go buy two 12 packs. Get two free but each pack is $9.99. That's $20 for two of them. You're paying for the whole for every f****** pack so you guys ain't saving. Nobody y'all need to stop with this. Trying to say you're saving people. You ain't saving nobody nothing. Kroger's is a big ripoff that's why I don't go there. Rip off
Ordered some overnight groceries from Kroger.com. The guys show up but when I don't answer the door they just take my order and leave. No one tells me they need to see ID for some reason. Huh? What the hell for? No one else does. They just take a pic of the deliver and leave. I'll never use them again. What a crap operation. At least TELL people you need to have someone present if that is your policy.
I tried to get cash back for $370 at customer service. They declined my card even though the money was in my account. They took the money anyway. They refused to give it back. I called my bank and they said that the money was already posted and Kroger should issue a refund and because they refused to do so that it was considered fraud and deactivated my card. I am about to file fraud charges. That was my rent money. They're going to get me evicted.
Waited 3 hours past delivery time them driver showed up sat for 10 minutes with van running and drove off
I called they told me van trouble so cancelled order after watching them drive away they cancelled order them held charges. Lied saying van broke down but sat running in front of building and watch them drive away cant reorder or go somewhere else because holding charges.
Buyer beware lied and kept charges until they decided to release well after they camcelled order. Supervisor dishonest then said nothing they can do.
Only 1 star because 0 isnt an option. The 3rd time i ordered kroger delivery in sandusky, and yet its the 3rd time they have to fulfill their end. Put in an order at 1 pm. Yet no food. Said delivery at 5 pm. When i call because they dont reach out its pushed back to 10 pm. Ghen 10 minutes later estimate delivery is 1130 pm. When they close at 10. Will claim they have no shopper. THEN STOP TAKING ONLINE ORDERS! What a joke. Best part is now i have no food and no money. They can take the money out right away but takes 3 to 5 days to refund. Im done with this KROGER.
I have been trying to reach the kroger pharmacy and store at 7000 E. Broad St., Reynoldsburg, Ohio for 24hrs, to no avail. I keep getting a busy signal. I tried calling a 1-800 number I got from online, however they were of no help. At this point, I will be transferring my RX's elsewhere.
Every time it will state delivered when it's not, then tell you it will be late.has happened the last 6 times. Then didn't get alot of the items you ask for. Absolutely terrible
I placed an order for a 150.00 gift card on December 14,2023. It was
A Christmas gift for my elderly in-laws, which is why I ordered a
Plastic card to be delivered to their home rather than a digital gift
Card. It was understood that the gift could take 5-10 days to be
Delivered and under the strains of holiday deliveries, I was hopeful
But understood if the card didn't make it before Christmas.
Three weeks after placing the order, the card still was not delivered
To Ohio and I called for an update. The automated system told me the
Card had been shipped that exact date (12/29/23) and could take 5-10
Business days. I was extremely upset but, again, with the holidays,
I was understanding. Another two weeks went by and on January 5,
2024, I called again. The automated system told me again that the
Card was shipped on that exact date (1/5/24) and could take 5-10 days,
Which was ridiculous and obviously NOT good information. This was now
Four weeks after ordering the card and I was now furious at the way
Your company does business. I called and was able to speak to
Customer service who basically told me they could not track the
Delivery and kept repeating it could take up to 5-10 business days to
Arrive.
Nobody, not even the supervisor I finally got to speak to could
Explain your process, the reason for the delay, or give me a
Definitive answer to when the card would be delivered, where it was
Coming from, why it was taking so long, etc. I cancelled the order and
Asked for a full refund (Case #CS *******), but that is not what I
Wanted. I wanted to give my in-laws a gift they could use and would
Appreciate and they got nothing. I have no idea if I will even get a
Response to this message (I'm not expecting to), but you should know
How poorly your system works. I could not be more disappointed and
Will share this experience with everyone I know to save them the
Aggravation I faced.
Answer: Kroger began cheating people out of money at their self checkouts.
Answer: I tried for 2 hours to get in touch with a human. Chat agent, Yelhen let me sit there and then went AWOL. Called every 800 number I could find...impossible to get past the bots. I called the local store in Livonia,,MI - phone rings, then you get music, phone rings then get music, I was in that loop for 15 minutes. The only way to get ahold of a human is to go to a store, they can't blow you off then. Do not ever start me their over priced products.
