I followed the training practices and they are helping. I make sure Chief is looking in my eyes when I am telling him what to do. Still working on the jumping but I figure it's because I am not home enough to do religiously. All the knowledge and advice is very helpful.
My issue woth my dogs in our home, is barking when someone is at the door.
But using the easy technique from just one video has already made a change, in their response and my own lil bit of training! So happy to add a new trick to my arsenal and theirs!
I'm just getting started, but I already know from watching the initial intro video that it will be successful in training my new puppy. My puppy is only 5 weeks old so trying to be ready for when we can take her home.
All help is much appreciated.
I 've had a few dogs over the years but sadly have not ever really known much re training them. All mine have only known they were loved- most important to me. I'm looking forward to learning how to make sure my next fur baby will be the perfect fur baby for our large family and where ever we take him around other people or dogs. Thank you so much for this help! Sincerely, Peggy
I like your program very much, unfortunately I am 73 yrs old and this is likely my last puppy, so I will not be training any more puppies. Thanks and good luck. Also US Tariff punishment on Canada is a factor.
Thank you for your training tips. I am now motivated to give my puppy a job to replace undesirable behavior. In addition, I will be incorporating hand signals, as well as verbal. I am looking forward to cutting back on training with treats. We have already started "watch" and "touch" and he is becoming more responsive.
The operant conditioning model is such a pleasant way to train desired behaviors! It's all about using rewards and play to encourage the dog's best behavior in a very short time. The approach gives both the human and dog a sense of joy and the behavior changes seem to become "hard wired" very quickly and deeply. I was surprised at how quickly we erased "naughty" behaviors that had been troubling us for months in a less than two days. And all without luring or dominance-based training methods.
We have a new foster dog that pulled terribly on walks. Both my husband's and my shoulders are very sore. The U turn concept renewed our confidence that we could make progress. Why didn't her people teach her better in the 8 years they had her? The door greeting manners we need to teach immediately, too! She is a loud barking dog, a shepherd mix, and badly scared someone coming into the house.
Your free three sample classes were great. In just three short days, we have seen a BIG change in Remi, a 4.5 year old Jack Russell/Whippet mix rescue. Still have to work with her, that is for sure. But my husband and I are impressed, with your course. And have already recommended your course to three other folks. I only wish we could complete your course with Remi. But we got her from a rescue group end of Dec. 2024. And that cost was $450 and my husband and I are both on Soc. Sec. And just do not have money available to complete the course, even at the generous discount you offered at the end of the sample lessons. I will continue to tell folks about your courses, though since I do believe they can help dog owners and their dogs.
My adult single daughter had an opportunity to get get a free puppy. A few days before she picked the pup up she broke her ankle and foot. I have always had dogs. My first husband was felt the way to train a dog was to put fear in them. He has passed and I didn't want to see my daughter go through a bad experience with her first dog that she picked out wants to train. I found your information online and I'm helping her and myself, learning to train a dog the right way.Because of her injury and me helping with her care, plus very bad weather(snow!), we are off to a slower start. Henry is potty trained, only took 10 days. I am very inspired to continue your training experiences with Henry and my daughter. Thank you!
