This company has a lot to make right for their community after losing 5 years of photos and videos, 2015-2020. They advertise as a "storage" site that is "safe" And yet after a second crash are unable to locate thousands of videos and photos. Beyond a terrible business, this is unethical behavior.
I along with hundreds of other purchased lifetime storage of photos from dropshots.com which has now shut down their site with little to no notice and what notice was given was not kept.
I'M LOCKED OUT OF MY ACCOUNT AND THERE'S NO WAY TO CONTACT THEM!
To create a ticket, I need to log in to the account. I can't log in to the account because it won't let me in!

DO NOT USE THIS SITE, YOU WILL REGRET IT!
They were the best match for what I was looking back in 2016 to update my current website. I needed a space to store my demo videos for the media products I sell online on different web stores. The links to all excerpts uploaded on Dropshots are now leading to embarrassing messages and warnings. I have uploaded almost 100 demos since the purchase of a life membership. I know the price was low, I know that many other companies does not offer life memberships and that most of them charges monthly fees for their services. But an entire section of my website relies on those demos, because I need the clients to get familiarized with my creations before they purchase anything. It's common sense. Dropshots helped me over time to keep my customers content and informed, but now I feel like I disappoint them. I can't access my account from a few months now. I can't provide the trust and fair-play feeling to my potential customers, because they now think I'm scamming them with malware and misleading information. In my country, I have one of the best Internet speed in the world. I don't know about my customer's Internet speed when they access the demos - the streaming might have lags. But, come on, for just 100 bucks you expect premium services? At least they could be fair, charge us $500 or more for a lifetime membership and we would never encounter this kind of crap. I don't have time and patience to operate changes on my website right now because Dropshots $#*!ed up. And it's not the first time. At least, someone replied me on their Facebook messenger. I really appreciate it, even if it was after 2-3 weeks. And they also emailed me back, every time (very late, but the answers were fair and professional, they took their time to answer something decent). That's a plus. But guys, if you can't handle it, just... drop(shot) it. Forever.
So I have used them for years, paid for a Lifetime subscription, Unlimited, which they do not offer anymore, Now all I get is messages about being over my limit, this and that... this company is now very dishonest, I have top send them copies of my Bank payment for the lifetime agreement, then they leave me alone for a little while, then you wake up, and BAM, back to their BS and dishonesty... the old dropshots, i would have five stared them, the dropshots now, Stay away... absolutely no Honesty or Integrity
We all need somewhere independent to make a complaint to, for us to get the problems with this company sorted out. I paid for lifetime membership, all photos disappeared and no reply from the company. In my country this would be illegal so I am trying to find out where to take a complaint.
I started using DropShots in 2007, and uploaded all my kid videos and photos for safekeeping and to share with family. Paid for a lifetime' membership to keep my precious memories safe. When I went to review at one point, none were there. All erased. No response from the company to my numerous emails.
I opened a Dropshots account (owned by WebMinds, Inc) in 2005. At that time the video hosting site was free. Fast forward 14 years and I logged in to Dropshots to retrieve a video of my father to share with my family. My account was locked down with a message to update my credit card information to access my content. As this video was very important to me, I decided to pay the $4.95 to unlock my account and the next morning woke up to THIRTY ONE duplicate (unauthorized) charges to my account, totaling over $150.00. I called the number listed for Dropshots on my bank statement and left a message, opened three support tickets through their website, and only received a response when I took to their Facebook page with my complaint. Their so-called "fair and amicable" solution was to offer me a $10.00 discount off a $99.99 premium membership, with a credit for the remaining $64, saying that the charges were "back pay" - for a membership I never had to pay for previously. And any attempts by me to download and delete my remaining videos, delete my credit card information and/or close my account failed to work. No wonder why Dropshots has to rely on shady business practices and scamming people into paying exorbitant prices to access their content - their business and website are obviously on the brink of going down. I ended up resorting to disputing the fraudulent, unauthorized charges with my bank.
I love Dropshots and use for over a decade w no problems! Been a lifetime member and truly satisfied.
When you try to cancel the subscription or delete the account the screen goes blue so you can't submit the cancellation. I tried it with three different browsers. This is total scam and they keep charging me monthly.
Enough said. Impossible to cancel subscriptions and impossible to get in contact with support. Still currently taking my money although I don't use the website. (:
I'm shocked to see that some of these reviews are as old as two years ago and yet Dropshots/Web Minds still has a web site up that is accepting credit cards, but is completely disabled when you try to cancel your subscription or delete your account.
I signed up for an account in November, uploaded one video, saw how poor the quality was and never used the site again. In December I was charged my recurring monthly charge and immediately went to the site to cancel my subscription. Both the cancel subscription and delete account processes fail on the final step. You can click the button to cancel or delete. It prompts you with an "are you sure". But then when you click the final cancel or delete button it takes you to a page where the password confirmation fields and final submit button are greyed out and inaccessible. You can see them but you can't interact with them at all.
And now the only way to stop the recurring charge is to cancel my card and get a new one. Think about how much that costs in terms of disruption to my other monthly credible vendors. I wish the credit card companies offered more recourse in situations like this, like being able to cancel a recurring subscription directly with your credit card company.
I didn't do my research before subscribing to their service. Hopefully this will save others some headache.
We've been using DropShots for years to share photos but suddenly I can't upload photos anymore and their customer service is ridiculously unhelpful. If they respond at all, their only suggestions amount to things like "try and reboot your computer." Stay away from them. I'm giving them 1 star because without being able to upload photos, the site is useless.
We have used this company for over 7 years. It was never good but worked. Things got worse n worse until recently no more vidoes and photos can be uploaded anymore. The customer service was a joke, they dont even bother to respond anymore.
We paid for a lifetime membership and now they breached the contract.
Never trust this company.
This used to be a pretty good site. Our family have used it as a cloud-based way of sharing family photos since around 2008 - we purchased the lifetime option for a one-off fee of $99. For the first few years it was just fine - uploading images and videos worked great, and the albums were organized intuitively.
The last couple of years have been a disaster though. Here's the main issues from my POV:
- The revamped website is clunky - it's difficult to browse by date.
- The desktop uploaded no longer works for me - so I can't upload images or videos any more from my PC.
- If I try to upload images from Google Drive, the images claim to have been uploaded, but you can't see them anywhere.
- Many images from albums uploaded long ago seem to have gone missing.
In short, we entrusted our family memories to this website, and what used to work very well is now useless. I'm not sure if or how we could ever get these images back.
Something horrible has happened, and it's very very disappointing.
Drop Shots, stay Well Away from this one, not only are there facilities poor i. E once you have uploaded an Album you can not change the order in which you have uploaded them, useless if you want to rearrange in what order your photos are viewed, but they won't Refund when you cancel your Trial. No, despite 4 attempts to cancel a Lifetime membership and having deleted the only 20 photos I uploaded. Drop Shots refuses to give me a Refund. David Newcomb is the man who made this decision, hiding behind a company called WebMinds. As previous reviewers have said Yes this is a total Scam, Stay well away or risk as I have done losing $100. Kindest Regards Stephen Fox
SCAM! Couldn't remove videos once posted and I'm still being charged after cancelling my account! I can't contact anyone about being charged because I cancelled my account. This is a total SCAM! Don't fall for this!
Impossible to contact. Take your card and don't give you a next page in registration process so... no username, no password, no email contact reference... NADA. Cancel credit card to kill account draw. Bad bad bad bad bad!
Terrible. Did not work -- downloads wouldn't complete, videos wouldn't upload, customer service only available AFTER you pay. Why would I pay for a non-working product? Awful.
Complete scam. No way to download photos once they are posted, only through purchasing a photo cd. Unsubscribed, but kept being billed TWICE each month. Tried to unsubscribe again, but the account had already been deleted, because I UNSUBSCRIBED! Tried to submit a trouble ticket, but only "premium" members can submit trouble tickets. Since I had already unsubscribed, I no longer had a valid login. Zero contact information available; if you don't believe me look for yourself. AMEX reversed the charges and had to block them from the card to get their charges to stop posting.
Answer: I have the exact same problem. What recourse do we have?
