Apparently, DiscoverBooks went out of business in March 2024 but they continued to take orders well after that. Orders that they could not fulfill and had no intention to fulfill. Back in March, I had placed two separate orders with them. One order via their website and the other one via eBay. Fortunately, I was able to get refunds for both orders. EBay refunded me for the one that I had placed through their website, while the order that I had placed directly through DiscoverBooks's own website was refunded by PayPal.
Quite sure they never had the book that was advertised and never intended to ship it to me. "Customer service" was a joke. Good thing the credit card company quickly recognized the fraudulent nature of the business model and refunded my money in full. Given that their website has been off-line for weeks, let's hope it means they have gone out of business.
I ordered a book that never arrived. I contacted them outside the 30-day window for "returns and refunds" so too bad for me. I had been buying from them for about a year. Try another company. There are plenty of others.
Tracking shows that my month-old orders haven't left Toledo. USPS still awaits them. I wonder if Discovery has gone out of business and kept my money. I had previously made several orders about which I had no complaint.
I ordered a book on 8/16/22 and received it today 8/25/22. The book was delivered ahead of schedule, well packaged, brand new as advertised and at a better price than other online resources. I made an inquiry to customer service and within hours I received a reply from Shannon who answered my questions and insured that I would have a positive experience which I did. Thank you Shannon. Because of the way you represented Discover Books, I am certain I will be a customer of yours in the future.

This company pays barely above minimum wage so I can't afford to have them take out $100 for medical. They also require a doctor note for using your paid sick day. There are so many OSHA violations still after getting multiple $6,000 fines.
Management is a joke! Will talk to the good workers about not doing enough and let the lazy people be lazy. Because Management themselves are too busy sitting at their desk playing phone games.
I am required to do more work because I do my job better, for the same pay as someone in my position. We will have 20+ people doing a job that takes half of that so we will have multiple people sitting and texting all day because or supervisor is doing the same thing.
For years I've bought virtually all books via the Internet. There was an unusual issue (too lengthy to describe here) with my book order to DC. After I brought it to their attention it was quickly resolved to my complete satisfaction.
I worked for this company for a year and half and my facility was closed. If you ever wonder why you buy a book and it's bad it's because of the long hours, minimum wage and ridiculous goals. The books are all bought from thrift stores. That means companies like Goodwill couldn't sell the books. The top 1% best workers are treated equal to the people on their phones all day not hitting goals. This company need a replacement of all the people running it or it will always be bad!
I ordered two books from Discover In December for my grandson. I knew they were used but it said they were in "good" condition which was fine with me. They charged me $29 for both books, which was a little steep but I couldn't find them anywhere else. Well, one of the books came cut across the top! Yes, you got it, cut. Unreadable obviously. I was so shocked and irritated I tried to contact the company and couldn't get a hold of anyone so I contacted my credit card company to file a dispute. Discover books replied to my credit card company that the books were delivered in good condition, nothing wrong. So unprofessional and no integrity at all. Do not order from this company!
There are a few places that Discover Books receives their books but Goodwill is a main contributor. Cut out the over priced middle man and you can see what condition your book is in instead of a under paid and over worked employee of Discover books giving a book a exceptional rating to get numbers.
Answer: Discover Books is a legit company. My books arrived quickly and in good condition.
Answer: I was looking for a specific cover for a lost book that I was replacing. There were other businesses that may have had the edition I was looking for, but this one seemed the most responsive to issues based on other reviews. And it was the least expensive.
