I opened an account on this website years ago and having tried it with $25, I was able to "apply to sevral coaching or tutoring gigs" Not actually getting the job! And this happened over and over, I would deplete the credits just applying to get a chance to ask a student to "let me teach him/her"! Most ridiculous concept ever known to man probably! Yet there were very few options available to me at the time and since it was supposed to become my business I thought I had to invest in it.
After trying with ZERO success with several so called "students" and not getting any gigs or being able to charge for a SINGLE LESSON, I was left with just about 5 bucks worth of credits to apply for one last coaching opportunity.
Last year after the whole pandemic scam was over I tried again with another like $20 but now they said they had changed the format and that they didn't work with credits anymore and one so called student wanted lessons, so they charged me $13 bucks for her contact. When I sent or replied to her messages on the platform she just stopped responding. I tried calling directly and no answer after several tries.
I texted after trying to call and it wasn't until like 2 weeks later that she replied apologizing but this person even had NO IDEA how much I charged regardless of my coaching page on lessons.com and just making stupid questions that were already answered on my profile page, but on top of that it was evident she really had NO intention of getting the lessons despite me having to pay a hefty fee of $13.50 that can very well be used to buy a good decent lunch at any fast food restaurant or just use it to do buy your own website, pay for ADWords, ADsense on google and promote yourself directly while reaching MORE people than this BS website that just ROBS its customers.
Well it didn't stop there, I gave them the benefit of the doubt as in my last complaint to customer service they agreed to give me a refund for this lead. Well, they didn't refund me at all but just gave me a "credit" within their website to "continue applying to coaching/teaching jobs". My credit card expired but when I came back for another try months later they said they had changed the system YET ONCE AGAIN. The site said they now worked with "weekly budgets" so I had to assign a maximum amount to grab lesson requests. So I gave them my credit card still in hopes I would be able to get at least ONE student, three people contacted me and guess what!
NONE OF THEM ever replied after my first message, giving me the indication that these were probably bogus leads generated by the site to make you spend on credits!
Much like the infamous mail-order bride sites from russia and ukraine that operate in a similar fashion, using catfish to entice men to pay hundreds upon hundreds of dollars on fake communication and getting nowhere with these women!
Same here! I complained to them to no avail and only after I called my credit card to ask for my money back they LITERALLY BANNED MY ACCOUNT for "suspicious activity"! Mofo thieves!
I was able to get most of the money back from my card Bank but the rest $13.50 which was unaccounted for because it was an old transaction was BOLDLY STOLEN by these mo fo ck e rs!
THIEVES AND MAY YOU ALL BURN IN HELL!
