I submitted my breeder verification application over nine weeks ago and have received no meaningful response from anyone at Good Dog — despite multiple emails, voicemails, and follow-ups. The platform claims to value transparency and high standards, yet seems perfectly fine operating with zero accountability or communication.

It shouldn't take over two months to review an application or at least send a simple update. The silence from their onboarding team is either gross negligence or complete incompetence. If this is how they treat responsible breeders who provide full documentation and proof of care, I can only imagine how little support users get once they're actually onboarded.

Save yourself the frustration — there are plenty of better-run platforms that actually respond to the people who make their business possible.

Horrible they are puppy mills they sell from they do not do research or stand behind the breeders or buyers they charge 6.5 percent to breeders and 3 percent plus sales tax to buyers. They are a glorified puppy mill go to akc marketplace they dont upcharge u or the breeder

I purchased a puppy through GoodDog.com, a platform that claims to connect buyers with vetted, responsible breeders. I selected a breeder listed on their site — Regina Cheslock of Gemstone Kennel — who advertised a 13-week-old purebred Yorkshire Terrier named Calvin.
However, after traveling four hours each way to pick up the puppy and paying $1,500, I discovered through a licensed veterinarian and a DNA test that Calvin is actually a Chorkie (Yorkie-Chihuahua mix), not a purebred Yorkie as advertised. The vaccination records provided were also invalid, lacking a vet's signature, and I received no AKC registration paperwork, which should have been supplied.
This experience was both emotionally and financially distressing, and it raises serious concerns about the breeder's honesty and the effectiveness of GoodDog.com's breeder screening process. I trusted the platform to connect me with a reputable seller, but unfortunately, I was misled.

I'm deeply disappointed in Good Dog's lack of transparency. I purchased a puppy through their platform and had a number of issues with the breeder — from poor communication to health concerns that should've been disclosed upfront. I took the time to write a detailed and honest review, only to learn that Good Dog doesn't publicly publish reviews unless the breeder agrees to it. That means breeders can cherry-pick only the positive feedback and hide anything that's less flattering — no matter how truthful or helpful it would be for future buyers. If I had seen a single honest review like mine before spending over $4,000, I would've made a different decision. I even flagged my concerns with Good Dog early in the process, but nothing was done. Now I understand why: negative feedback is kept hidden, and the platform enables that by design. Good Dog markets itself as a safe and trusted place to find a puppy, but how can buyers trust a system where only glowing testimonials are shown? That's not transparency — that's curation. I'll be sharing my experience across other platforms, because buyers deserve to know the truth before making such an important and expensive decision. Good Dog needs to take accountability and revise this policy if they truly care about trust and animal welfare.

After starting the search for a specific breed of dog that was hypoallergenic, Good Dig filtered our search based on our location and needs, getting us in touch with a breeder within 2 hours of us. Our match was sent to us via Good Dog app and we instantly fell in love! It was a no-brainer decision to reserve Miles and start asking the fun questions. After our breeder answered all our questions and assuring us of his demeanor, habits and personality, we couldn't wait any longer to seal the deal. Fortunately, we only had to wait 1 week before Miles was able to come home to us, we set up a meeting spot to meet Miles and bring him to his new home and the rest is history. The breeder was so excited to know that Miles was going to a home with 2 young boys, near the beach and baseball fields… all made a tough process for her much easier, she was great!

Doug and Cathy at Hearth&Hound Doodles made this such a cool experience to get our first puppy! The messaging app is such a great idea, and Cathy was very responsive! I have already told people about Good Dog and Hearth&Hound Doodles. 10/10! Would recommend. Thank you Doug and Cathy for our little guy!

I recently purchased my first Miniature Dapple Dachshund through Good Dog. I needed a companion as I went from having four of my best friends living together, while in college, to only me in my own apartment. It is such an effective and easy way to find the puppy you didn't know you needed. I had been looking for this specific breed of dog for over a year and Good Dog found me a match within a matter of minutes. There are so many scams on places like Facebook (and just the internet in general). It was hard to know who to go to without second guessing where my money would be going. Once I downloaded Good Dog, my search was over. I never had to think twice about scams or unethical breeders. All payments are 'Good Dog Guaranteed' (which provides protection for both the buyer and breeder). I also knew the puppy was coming from a happy, healthy home as Good Dog ensures breeders on the app meet certain standards, including health testing and ethical practices. All of the breeders were responsive, informative, and make sure all their puppies are going to great homes. There are always ways around the distance between me and my potential puppy picks as well. Just ask your breeder. It was such an easy process, I will always recommend Good Dog to everyone looking for a fur baby!

The back and forth with the breeder was very nice. Andrea brought the dog to the meet site with a bagful of goodies. She was really great. We had a long drive home and ended up using some of the goodies Andrea gave us. Minnie is an adorable, full of energy dog. She has taken to our other dog. They are almost inseparable already. They are so fun to watch play. Potty training isn't going as well as I had hoped. Andrea already had Minnie crate trained and that has been extremely helpful.

We were looking for a high quality English mastiff and ran into several scams online. Not knowing where else to look other than online, I had almost given up. After running across Good Dog online, I realized it was a legit operation and something we could rely on to not get scammed. The fees paid are well worth it. Our breeder has been top notch and now, even after receiving the puppy, we still have good communication through her with Good Dog!
