DO NOT BUY EPSON PRODUCTS!

I recently purchased this scanner and as my use of it increased, it's functionality seemed to decrease overnight one day ( Just a few days ago) and then completely failed to scan despite having calibrated it and attempted to adjust the tunings on it as explained in the directions. Nothing made the device work normally again. When a scan was attempted only a hyper bright image of the page appeared and some kind of monochromatic aberration in the areas outside the page where it would have normally reflected just black, like a photo or regular scan on any other device with a flatbed scanner bed.
Here is where the bigger problem exists with EPSON.
So I called customer service after a long time trying to find the number- WHICH IS *******314; IN CALIFORNIA! So one can already suspect that one will likely have difficulty. All employees who pick up the phone sound like they are Indian or just foreigners. So they don't give a damn about you. I explained my problem and they looked up the serial number and verified that it was still under warranty. I was given two options for a replacement, the first was to provide my credit card information and have them send me a "REFURBISHED" unit instead of a brand new one that I spent $200.00 for. So already, I am getting a used one for the price of a brand new one. Then once that unit arrived, I would have to send my defective one back in the same box at the risk of them not receiving it. If they claim they didn't receive it then they would keep my $150.00 extra dollars charged onto my credit card. The next option detailed a longer wait time for an exchange by mail where they would have to graciously verify that they received the item. Who knows if they would be honest enough to do so given that the mail is totally untrustworthy today.
So I opted for the first option with the promise that they would return my money upon the entire transaction having taken place and the conditions met. I complained that I didn't think it was fair of me to have paid so much money for a brand new device and now to have to settle for an older one for the same money. Then this seemed to have thrown off "GEL" after initially having spoken to "Vincent" where the whole arrangement now became dependent on my being able to find the receipt ironically enough because I bought this device to help manage a mess of paper around the house. But they still had the device serial number that showed it to be under warranty as I already mentioned. I was then threatened or discouraged with a whole bureaucratic circus in order to obtain a new one if I wanted to go that route.
So the I gave my credit information by phone to another connected department on Friday August 2,2024. Over the weekend, I became unsettled and thought to call on Monday August 5 to ensure that the transaction was taking place and begun. Of course it was NOT. So I had to go through the same process and had to give my credit card number again after being helped by a female named "Merlin" who then connected me to "Alvin" After going through it again with "Alvin" he tried to connect me with the next department over who would take my credit card information to expedite this terrible decision to purchase a product from EPSON base in COMMIE-FORNIA. What happens next? I am hung up on and would you think they would try to call me back? NOOOO! WHY? Because as I explained before, here above, they are foreigners who DON't GIVE A DAMN ABOUT YOU, AS AN AMERICAN. So stop supporting these business who continue to harbor people who are only there to do the minimum in order to collect a paycheck while you are ripped off.
SO WHAT I DID INSTEAD IS TAKE THE ITEM BACK TO WHERE I BOUGHT IT AND RETURNED IT FOR MY FULL $200.00 BACK!
LESSON: DON'T BUY ANYTHING FROM EPSON!
EPSON WILL NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCTS AND DON'T NEED TO BECAUSE THEY ARE LOCATED IN COMMIE-FORNIA AND EMPLOY FOREIGNERS WHO DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT YOU AMERICANS MUCH LESS YOUR SATISFACTION WITH THEIR SHODDY CRAP THEY PEDDLE FOR AN EXORBITANT PRICE! BOYCOTT!!!!
