Having been a litigation paralegal, you will be in a strong position to transition as you will have work experience that shows you can handle deadlines and stress while being accurate and dependable. Patent work is not nearly as stressful as litigation, but it does involve a lot of important deadlines. It also has its share of mundane tasks. But patent attorneys are usually pretty nice people, which helps. It's also a very stable employment field, which is also a good thing!
